Royole’s third-generation folding screen FlexPai 3 recently appeared on a second-hand platform. The phone adopts an outward folding design, a lifting front camera, and no openings on the screen.
According to the B station UP host “Old Friend Wang Haibin”, the FlexPai 3 has an interesting design. There is a recessed area on the back of the body corresponding to the rear camera, which is used to prevent the camera lens from being scratched.
FlexPai 3 uses a 7.2-inch ultra-large black-bordered screen,
1620*1520 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, processor is Snapdragon 765G, and lens parameters are 12 million pixel main camera + 8 million pixel ultra-wide angle.
Royole originally planned to launch the FlexPai 3 at the end of 2021, but the new phone became Royole’s last work before it was released.
According to “old friend Wang Haibin”, Royole sold the third-generation solution to VERTU. Almost all of the nearly 100 Royole FlexPai 3s circulating on the market have been converted into VERTU AYXTA Fold3. There may be only three real Royole FlexPai 3s in the world.
It is understood that in December 2021, rumors of large-scale wage arrears were exposed for Royole Technology. In
April 2022, Royole’s independent director Liu Shuwei posted an article through her personal WeChat public account calling for the rescue of Royole, hoping that the government could help Royole Technology introduce strategic investors to alleviate its funding shortage.
In March this year, there were rumors that Royole Technology had gone bankrupt. The company issued a statement on April 1 saying that it had not actively applied for bankruptcy and had not entered bankruptcy proceedings, and that the company is still operating.
On June 6 this year, the National Enterprise Bankruptcy and Reorganization Case Information Network showed that the Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court issued an announcement stating that it had ruled on May 15, 2024 to accept the case of Royole Technology’s bankruptcy liquidation, and appointed Guangdong Huashang Law Firm as the administrator of Royole Technology.
The Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court will hold the first creditors’ meeting on September 13, 2024. Creditors who have declared their claims in accordance with the law have the right to participate in the creditors’ meeting.
The bankruptcy liquidation cases of Royole Electronics and Royole Display, two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Royole Technology, were also ruled to be accepted.
It is reported that in 2018, Royole Technology released the world’s first foldable screen mobile phone – FlexPai, which uses the 7.8-inch cicada-wing flexible screen 2nd generation AMOLED screen independently developed by Royole Technology. This unicorn, once valued at more than 50 billion and the originator of foldable screen mobile phones, has become history.
