The design of the Huawei P70 series was revealed by the blogger Digital Chat Station. This new series marks a departure from the design of the previous P60 series, featuring a matrix camera module with three cameras. According to the leaked picture, the camera and back design somewhat follow Apple’s iPhone 15 pro design.
The largest camera in the center is the main shooter, flanked by the telephoto and wide-angle cameras, with the flash positioned on the far left. The standard version of the Huawei P70 series is equipped with the OV50H main camera, while the high-end version features the Sony IMX989 sensor.
The OV50H boasts a 1.2μm pixel size, 50 million pixel resolution, and a 1/1.3-inch optical format size. It supports full-resolution 30fps, 12.5MP mode 120fps, and 60fps HDR readout speed. The Sony IMX989, on the other hand, features a full 1-inch sensor without any cropping, uses a Quad-Bayer color array, and offers a high dynamic range for improved low-light performance.
The Huawei P70 series is set to launch in the first half of this year and is poised to be Huawei’s most powerful high-end flagship to date. This series is expected to bring significant advancements in imaging capabilities, further solidifying Huawei’s position in the high-end smartphone market.
