blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that Redmi K80 Pro will support ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint. The solution is provided by Goodix and the new product will be launched in Q4 this year.
Compared with the current mainstream optical fingerprint recognition solution, the pulses emitted by the ultrasonic sensor can sense the unique holes and ridges of the fingerprint and form 3D depth data, thus having higher accuracy. This solution does not require the screen to be turned on to the highest brightness when working.
Since the birth of ultrasonic screen fingerprint, Qualcomm has been the main promoter of this solution. Now Goodix has also mastered the ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint technology, and Redmi K80 Pro uses Goodix’s solution.
Compared with traditional optical fingerprints, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition has higher security and improved recognition rate. Even in the case of wet hands or stains, the probability of sensitivity being affected is relatively small.
In terms of core configuration, Redmi K80 Pro uses a 2K straight screen and is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 mobile platform. This will be Redmi’s most powerful high-end flagship.
