Fast Technology reported that renowned leaker Onleaks released CAD renderings of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, unveiling the mystery of this highly anticipated foldable flagship.
According to the leaked design drawings, the Galaxy Z Fold8 basically continues the classic design language of its predecessor, with the main evolution focused on internal hardware upgrades.
Samsung has made significant progress in achieving a thinner and lighter body; the unfolded version is only 4.5 mm thick on one side, and the total thickness when folded is also kept to 9 mm. However, in order to accommodate the flagship-level imaging module, the camera protrusion is approximately 5.5 mm thick.
Despite its incredibly slim body,
the Galaxy Z Fold8 manages to pack a large 5000mAh battery. While this capacity is still smaller than that of the Honor Magic V6, it represents a significant 600mAh improvement over its predecessor and also supports 45W wired fast charging.
Notably, this leak reveals that Samsung has adopted separate front-facing camera solutions for both the inner and outer screens. This means that Samsung has temporarily abandoned its previous under-display front-facing camera technology, opting instead for a traditional punch-hole design to ensure clearer selfie quality and more reliable video call quality.
In terms of core specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to be among the first to feature Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra flagship platform. Following Samsung’s usual release schedule, this foldable flagship is expected to officially debut in August of this year.
At that time, more details about the strength of the body materials, optimization of screen creases, and software ecosystem adaptation will be revealed one by one.
