Huawei is rolling out its first global update for the Watch GT 4 featuring Harmony OS 5.0. The update, version 5.0.0.36(SP1C00M07), introduces a host of new features and improvements, aimed at enhancing the smartwatch experience. The update is 328 MB in size and has started reaching users in countries like Romania and India, although the full rollout is expected to take time.

New Tools and Features

The Harmony OS 5.0 update brings several useful features to the Watch GT 4. One of the standout additions is the new watch screenshot tool, making it easier to capture and share on-screen content. Another highlight is offline map downloads, designed to assist users during outdoor activities where connectivity may be limited. Fitness enthusiasts will also benefit from advanced wrist-based running metrics such as ground contact time and vertical oscillation, offering deeper insights into their workouts.

Additionally, Smart Suggestions now recommend personalized activities based on your exercise history, calorie consumption, and weather conditions, making it more convenient to stay active.

Enhanced Style and Usability

The Watch GT 4 also gets a refreshed user interface, described as more intuitive and user-friendly. Two new watch faces, Route Beam and Eternal Moment, are available, while the Activity Rings have been further customized for a more personalized appearance.

Improvements don’t stop there—screen transitions are now smoother, push notifications more responsive, and health metrics even more accurate. These optimizations ensure the smartwatch remains an efficient and reliable companion for users.

The Harmony OS 5.0 update is being deployed in phases and can be downloaded through the Huawei Health app. While the timeline for worldwide availability remains unclear, users across different regions can expect the update to arrive soon.
