NVIDIA and MediaTek’s cooperation is further deepening. The two parties not only plan to launch an AI PC chip in the second half of 2025, but are also developing an AI smartphone chip with the intention of getting a share of the mobile market.
In the PC field, NVIDIA and MediaTek’s collaborative AI PC chip is expected to adopt TSMC’s 3nm process and Arm architecture, combining MediaTek’s expertise in customized chips with NVIDIA’s powerful graphics computing capabilities, and is expected to be released during the 2025 Taipei International Computer Show.
At present, many well-known manufacturers including Lenovo, Dell, HP, Asus, etc. have planned to adopt this chip.
In the smartphone market, NVIDIA and MediaTek may also release an AI smartphone chip. Currently, Samsung’s Exynos chip performs poorly, Qualcomm and MediaTek have become the main competitors in the Android camp, and the market urgently needs a high-performance mobile chip.
NVIDIA previously collaborated with Nintendo to develop the Tegra chip, and has accumulated rich experience in low-power GPU design, which laid a technical foundation for its entry into the mobile market. However, the details of NVIDIA’s mobile chips are still uncertain.
