Released and replaced in the same year, the OnePlus 13 has shed OxygenOS, gaining official LineageOS support.
Just a month after the OnePlus 12 joined the official LineageOS lineup, the OnePlus 13 follows suit. As with nearly all OnePlus devices, it comes packed with features, making it another must-watch Android phone of 2025.
OnePlus fans often wish their phones had the same support window as Samsung’s flagships. While five years isn’t bad, LineageOS could give the OnePlus 13 extra updates or be a reason to buy it now, even with the OnePlus 15 yet to launch.
As of now, the OnePlus 13 runs Android 15, while OxygenOS 16 has been announced but is still in Beta in some regions. LineageOS 23, unveiled in early October, is officially available for the device, offering a newer software build. This provides a lighter, more Pixel-like interface that fully makes the most of the flagship’s impressive early-2025 hardware.
LineageOS 23.0 brings upgrades to apps like the Twelve music player and improves performance behind the scenes. However, it currently omits the Material 3 Expressive redesign introduced with Android 16 QPR1. This delay is due to Google not releasing the Pixel kernel source code on time, which may affect future updates. Consequently, updates that were once very fast could slow down, making LineageOS a slightly riskier choice for the OnePlus 13 than in previous years.
The builds are now live and can be flashed, provided you unlock the bootloader and complete the required setup steps beforehand.
