As many anticipated, the RedMagic 11 Air was officially launched in China today. It is designed to strike a balance between the current trend of thin and lightweight smartphones and the high performance features of gaming phones. It features RedMagic’s well known transparent back, an active cooling fan with RGB lighting and runs on last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Like its predecessors in the RedMagic series, the 11 Air comes with a full, uninterrupted AMOLED display. The screen features a 16MP under display selfie camera and an optical fingerprint scanner for added security. It measures 6.85 inches diagonally with a resolution of 1,216 × 2,688 pixels. The display also supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals and is reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i help to prevent scratches and damage.
Being a gaming focused device the RedMagic 11 Air comes with capacitive shoulder buttons to enhance gaming controls. It also deliver impressive RAM and storage performance. The phone support up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM with a memory bandwidth of 9,600 MB/s. For storage, it offers up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 providing read speeds of up to 4,200 MB/s for fast access to games and apps.
The RedMagic 11 Air has a slim profile, measuring just 7.85mm in thickness and weighing 207 grams. Despite this compact design it still has an active spinning fan that rotates at speeds of up to 24,000 RPM to keep the device cool during intense gaming. On top of that, the device comes with an IP54 rating which means it is resistant to dust and can handle water splashes without damage.
The back of the phone features a dual camera setup. It has a 50MP main camera with a 23mm equivalent lens, a 1/1.55” sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos. It is complemented by an 8MP ultra wide camera that allows you to take wider shots.
The phone comes with a 7,000mAh battery that ensures extended battery life for gaming, streaming and daily use. It supports extremely fast 120W wired charging, allowing the phone to recharge quickly. In terms of software, the RedMagic 11 Air comes with RedMagic OS 11.0 which is built on Android 16, offering a smooth and modern user experience.
RedMagic 11 Air comes in two stylish colors: Quantum Black and Stardust White. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at CNY 3,499 which is roughly $502, while the larger 16GB RAM with 512GB storage model costs CNY 4,199 or about $602. Both models are already listed on Nubia’s official online store. However, the company has not yet shared any details about when the phone will be available in international markets.
