The upcoming Galaxy S26 series is expected to offer enhancements in camera, software and overall performance. Although early reports suggested Samsung would release a Pro, Edge and Ultra variant, recent leaks suggest the lineup may instead consist of base, Plus and Ultra models. Images of the Galaxy S26’s design have recently surfaced, giving a first glimpse at the device.
Galaxy S26 Expected to Sport 6.9mm Slim Build and Qi2 Wireless
Tipster @UniverseIce has shared an image reportedly showing the base Galaxy S26. According to the source, the device measures just 6.9mm in thickness, 0.3mm slimmer than the Galaxy S25. The diagram also shows a triple camera setup in a vertical pill shaped module, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The image also shows a ring on the back, which is believed to be a built in magnetic system for Qi2 wireless charging. If confirmed, this would make the Galaxy S26 Samsung’s first device with Qi2 certification.
Previous Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold 7, come with Qi2 Ready certification. This means they don’t have built in magnets and require a Qi2 compatible case to support Qi2 wireless charging.
What Features Could the Galaxy S26 Bring ?
The Galaxy S26 is rumored to have a 6.3 inch AMOLED screen with peak brightness around 3,000 nits, an in display fingerprint sensor, 50MP main lens, 50MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens.
The Galaxy S26 may be powered by a 2 nm Exynos 2600 chip in some regions, while other markets could get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 variant with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It is expected to run Android 16 with One UI 8.5, introducing several new features and UI enhancements.
The device may include GPS, 5G network support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC functionality. Connectivity options also feature a USB 3.2 Type C port. An IP68 certification guarantees resistance to dust and water. The power system comprises a 4,300mAh battery, capable of 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
