Honor CEO Zhao Ming previously stated publicly that Honor has plans for many technologies including tri-fold and scroll.

Zhao Ming pointed out that Honor can make the thinnest inner fold and the thinnest outer fold, and these records are held by Honor. It is not technically difficult for us to make three folds, it is just a Z shape or a G shape.

He also said, “We have the ability to fold outwards. The thinnest outward-folding one is the V Purse made by us, and the thinnest inward-folding Honor Magic V3 is also made by us. We are the best in hinge strength, drop-resistance reliability, battery capacity, etc., and technical reserves are not a problem.”

The three-fold screen patent previously applied for by Honor has been made public. The patent application number is CN202130811473.0. The patent drawing shows that the Honor three-fold screen has a Z-shaped design, equipped with double hinges, a centered large circular lens on the back, and a Type-C charging port in the center.
