The Xiaomi 17 Max will be available in May: 8000mAh capacity, making power banks obsolete.

Fast Technology reported that Xiaomi officially launched its flagship Xiaomi 17 series last September, encompassing three models: the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Then, in December, the highly anticipated annual imaging flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, was unveiled.

Now, the fifth member of the Xiaomi 17 series is about to debut: the highly anticipated large-screen flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Max. According to the latest leaks, this new phone is expected to be officially released in May, marking Xiaomi’s first high-end flagship with a “Max” design.

As a new attempt in Xiaomi’s digital series, the core selling points of the Xiaomi 17 Max are very clear: an ultimate large-screen visual experience and powerful long battery life. In terms of design, this model returns to simplicity, eliminating the secondary screen on the back.

In terms of its imaging system, the phone maintains a top-tier level, featuring a rear Leica triple-camera setup. This includes a 200-megapixel ultra-clear main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

The biggest surprise of the Xiaomi 17 Max is its battery life, which boasts an impressive 8000mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

This is not only the model with the largest battery capacity in the history of Xiaomi’s digital series, but it also marks the first time that Xiaomi’s flagship phones have entered the era of 8000mAh long battery life. This breakthrough will greatly alleviate battery anxiety under heavy use, and you will no longer need to carry a power bank when you go out.

From a product positioning perspective, the Xiaomi 17 Max can be seen as a larger-screen enhanced version of the Xiaomi 17. While retaining the core flagship experience, it precisely caters to the needs of specific user groups through a tiered design of screen size and battery capacity.

By streamlining some premium features such as the rear secondary screen, the starting price of the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to be more attractive than that of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. This differentiated pricing strategy is expected to spark a new buying frenzy in the May smartphone market.
