According to MacRumors, some US iPhone 18 Pro Max users have recently reported cellular network issues, including inability to connect to AT&T networks and eSIM activation failures.
Some affected users reported that after the problem occurred, their phones were unable to make calls, send text messages, or use cellular data.
Similar feedback has been received on Reddit and Apple’s support community.
It’s worth noting that the US version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is the only model among the new iPhones released by Apple this month that uses a Qualcomm cellular baseband.
In contrast, the US versions of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo both use Apple’s self-developed C2 baseband, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max sold in other countries and regions also uses the C2 baseband.
However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that this network anomaly is related to Qualcomm baseband, and the specific cause still needs further confirmation.
Apple is currently testing iOS 27.0.1, which is expected to be released next week. Apple may resolve related issues through system updates or carrier configuration updates.
