ZTE Nubia Unveils Its First Foldable Device Nubia Flip 5G For Global Launch at $599

ZTE unveiled its first Nubia foldable smartphone, the Nubia Flip, at MWC, marking the brand’s entry into the foldable market. This vertically folding device emphasizes a sleek and stylish design, offered at an accessible price point of $599. It’s anticipated that the price could drop below 4000 RMB once it’s available in China.

The Nubia Flip features a 6.9-inch foldable display with a resolution of 2790×1188, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming for eye protection. The design incorporates straight edges and a 2.5D curved finish, with a familiar-looking back equipped with a 1.43-inch circular outer screen. This external display, with a resolution of 466×466, allows for selfie previews using the main camera, as well as convenient access to weather updates, notifications, and controls for recording and music playback.

For photography, the Nubia Flip is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the front camera offers 16 megapixels and supports hover photography.

Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, the device delivers adequate performance, focusing on making foldable screens more affordable. It houses a 4310mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

The Nubia Flip has already been certified in China, indicating that a domestic version could be announced soon, potentially with a more attractive price point.
