Galaxy S26 Ultra Geekbench Results Offer Encouraging News for Exynos Critics

Back in January, Samsung conducted Geekbench tests on the Galaxy S26 Ultra model intended for the North American market. The device was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor. Similarly, the vanilla Galaxy S26, which is the standard version for North America, was also tested on Geekbench with the same chip. These tests provide an early look at how the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performs across different variants of the S26 series.

A few days ago, the standard Galaxy S26 model for the Korean market appeared in Geekbench running on the Exynos 2600 processor. Now, the Korean Galaxy S26 Ultra has also been seen in Geekbench’s database. The good news for tech enthusiasts is that the Ultra version for Korea is running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, rather than the Exynos chip found in the standard model. This means that even in Korea, users of the Galaxy S26 Ultra will experience the performance benefits of Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor.

There is a very strong likelihood that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in all regions around the world. Unlike the Ultra, the regular Galaxy S26 models are expected to include a combination of processors, with some regions receiving the Exynos 2600. As a result, while Ultra buyers can anticipate the same top-tier performance globally, users of the standard models may notice differences depending on the processor available in their area.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra model intended for the Korean market carries the model number SM-S948N. The version of the phone that appeared in Geekbench testing featured 12GB of RAM, suggesting that it is designed to handle demanding apps and multitasking with ease. As expected for a flagship device, it will come with Android 16 installed from the start, along with Samsung’s next-generation One UI 8.5 skin. Industry sources indicate that the full Galaxy S26 lineup, including the Ultra, will be officially unveiled on February 25, giving users a chance to see the design, performance, and new software improvements of Samsung’s flagship smartphones.
