Google is launching a series of new features to Android users in the United States, including theft detection lock, offline device lock and remote lock.
Among them, the theft detection locking feature uses AI and device sensors to detect common actions associated with theft.
The model can identify some common ways of escaping after a phone is snatched, such as running, riding a bicycle or driving. Once this is detected, the phone will automatically lock to prevent the thief from accessing the apps and data on the phone.
Offline device locking is aimed at the network disconnection strategy that thieves may adopt. If the phone loses network connection for a long time, the system will automatically start screen lock, making it more difficult for thieves to crack.
The remote lock function remotely locks the phone screen via a phone number. This function is currently available in multiple mobile phone brands.
It is reported that these new features began testing in Brazil in August this year. After further optimization and improvement, Google plans to launch them to a wider user group within this year.
Google said the new features are designed to improve the security of user data and privacy and provide users with a better experience.
