Huawei mobile phones will continue to monopolize Beidou satellite communications: other manufacturers have not approved it

 Huawei launched Beidou satellite messaging for the first time on the Mate50 series, becoming the industry’s first mass smartphone to support Beidou satellite messaging.

Subsequent models such as P60/70 and Mate60/X5 also supported this function, and even added Tiantong satellite calls.

After the launch of Tiantong satellite calling, other domestic manufacturers also began to follow up, including Xiaomi, OPPO, Honor, etc.

However, it should be noted that these manufacturers all only have Tiantong satellite communication system and do not support the Beidou satellite system.

According to blogger Dingjiao Digital, this function will be exclusive to Huawei for a long time in the future. Although some manufacturers have been following up and negotiating, it has never been approved.

Industry insiders previously revealed that Huawei was also involved in the research and development of Beidou satellite messaging applications.

Beidou is a high-orbit satellite with a distance of up to 36,000 kilometers. Huawei did not expand additional antennas, but improved the communication experience through high-gain algorithms, new communication protocols, etc.

The most important thing is that Huawei has also solved the problems of high power consumption and high loss, which is relatively more technically difficult.
