iPhone 16 Pro Max adds a new photo button: image quality changes

 on the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple will replace the physical mute switch button that has existed on the original iPhone with a multi-function button “Action Button”.

After changing it to Action Button, Apple gave it many customized functions, such as the previously popular unique charging sound effects when charging, one-click downloading of Instagram pictures, etc.

In the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series, Apple will also add an independent photo button on this basis.

Although the Action Button of the iPhone 15 Pro series can also act as a camera shutter, the independent photo button of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has more features.

Like the traditional shutter button, it triggers autofocus when pressed halfway and triggers the camera function when fully pressed. However, the Action Button of the iPhone 15 Pro cannot do this.

The addition of a separate camera button means that Apple is strengthening the imaging capabilities of the iPhone.

According to reports, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with Apple’s customized Sony Sensor IMX903, which has a 1/1.14-inch super large base and is very close in size to the Android 1-inch main camera.

Moreover, Sony IMX903 adopts a double-layer transistor design to separate the photodiode from the pixel transistor. In this way, with the same large base, the double-layer transistor technology can bring better photoelectric performance.

In addition, IMX903 also supports 14-bit ADC (analog-to-digital converter), DCG (pixel-level dual gain), etc. Apple also equipped it with OIS optical image stabilization to further enhance its photosensitivity.

There is no doubt that this will be the flagship model with the most powerful imaging in Apple’s history.
