iPhone 18 Pro Design Finalized: First Batch of Protective Cases in Trial Production, Camera More Protruding

Fast Technology reported that a blogger posted photos of the first batch of third-party protective cases for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on social media. These cases, with their extremely high precision molding, almost perfectly replicate the final outline details of the new phones.

Through the outline of the openings on the protective case, it is clear that the iPhone 18 Pro series continues the horizontal large matrix DECO design of the previous generation. The openings in the camera module area have enough space, and the back of the phone still retains the induction coil corresponding to MagSafe magnetic charging, so the magnetic wireless charging function is fully preserved.

Information disclosed by the supply chain indicates that the iPhone 18 Pro will continue the design style of its predecessor, with the entire device still using a unibody aluminum alloy design and a Ceramic Shield backplate embedded below the camera module. This ensures the structural strength of the device against drops while also guaranteeing that the wireless charging efficiency is not affected by the metal body.

It’s worth noting that the iPhone 18 Pro Max, including the camera bump, has a total thickness of 13.77 mm, a significant increase compared to the previous generation iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 12.92 mm thickness. The overall weight is also expected to increase considerably.

In terms of color options, the iPhone 18 Pro will come in four colors: blue, black, silver, and dark red. The official English name for the dark red color is Dark Cherry. The overall tone is very close to a wine red with low saturation, and the texture is deep and restrained. This new color will replace last year’s Starry Orange and become the main color promoted by the Pro series this year.

In terms of core hardware configuration, the iPhone 18 Pro series will be the world’s first to launch the A20 Pro chip. This is Apple’s first flagship mobile chip built on TSMC’s 2-nanometer process, marking the official entry of the iPhone into the 2-nanometer performance era, with a significant leap in both performance and energy efficiency.

Furthermore, the latest supply chain news confirms that Apple will not be launching a standard iPhone 18 at this fall’s new product launch event. The entire event will only showcase three products: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the new foldable iPhone Ultra.
