New Snapdragon 8 series products revealed: TSMC 3nm+ self-developed architecture

Blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that Qualcomm will launch two flagship Socs in the second half of this year. One is the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, model SM8850, and the other model is SM8845. The name is unknown. Netizens speculate that it may be named Snapdragon 8s Elite or Snapdragon 8s Gen5.

According to reports, SM8845 adopts the self-developed Oryon CPU architecture and uses the same TSMC N3P (third-generation 3nm) process as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. At this stage, its overall performance is close to that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the first terminal will be launched in Q4.

Considering the configuration of Snapdragon 8 Elite, the AnTuTu score of SM8845 is expected to be around 3 million points. Although its positioning is not as good as Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, its performance is still strong.

In terms of configuration, SM8845 is the “little brother” of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Its self-developed architecture and process are comparable to Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, but its performance is slightly weaker, comparable to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite.

This chip may be equipped by sub-brands. What is certain at present is that the parent brand flagships such as Xiaomi 16 will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
