OnePlus 15 officially announced: the first to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5

OnePlus announced that the upcoming OnePlus 15 will be the first to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 flagship platform (fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition).

OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau expressed his honor to witness the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 Mobile Platform. Over the years, OPPO and Qualcomm Technologies have maintained close collaboration in technology research and development, product innovation, and scientific and technological innovation. Leveraging the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5’s breakthroughs in performance and energy efficiency, the new OnePlus 15 series will redefine the benchmark for Android flagship performance, delivering an unprecedented flagship experience to users worldwide.

Key highlights of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 include: a third-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU, boasting a 20% performance boost, making it the fastest chip in its class; a newly designed Qualcomm Adreno GPU, boasting a 23% improvement in graphics performance for enhanced graphics-intensive gaming; and a 37% performance boost in the Hexagon NPU.

In terms of CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 CPU still contains 2 super cores + 6 performance cores, of which the main frequency of the super core reaches 4.6GHz, and the main frequency of the performance core also reaches 3.62GHz.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 mobile platform also brings a truly personalized AI assistant to smartphones, supporting real-time learning and perception of multimodal models. It can deeply understand user needs across applications, providing proactive recommendations and contextual optimization. All data storage and processing is completed on the device, ensuring user privacy and security.

Li Jie, president of OnePlus China, said that launching the latest chip is just the beginning. What really determines the difference is whether the chip’s potential can be fully unleashed. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 has demonstrated Ultra strength on the OnePlus 15. This is not only the capability of a chip or a core, but also a generational change in player experience.
