OPPO enters the foldable phone market! Find N7 to debut in Q1 next year: 2nm Snapdragon 8E6 + 6500mAh battery

According to Fast Technology on July 9th, various signs indicate that wide folding screens are gradually becoming a new and prominent trend in the foldable screen phone market. Market research firm Counterpoint points out that the foldable screen market is undergoing a profound structural transformation in 2026, with product form gradually transitioning from traditional small folding screens to large folding screens with wide folding designs.

Currently, major brands including Apple and Samsung are actively refining their respective foldable models, and some manufacturers are even cutting budgets for other product lines to fully invest in this emerging market.

According to the blogger Digital Chat Station, OPPO’s first wide foldable phone, the Find N7, is currently in the final stages of development. The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8E6 flagship platform, manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process, and will have a 6500mAh battery. The new product is expected to officially launch in the first quarter of next year and may become the industry’s first wide foldable flagship to feature the Snapdragon 8E6.

Compared to traditional large folding screens, the core advantage of the wide folding screen is that it truly solves the long-standing pain point of “large screens are not easy to use” in previous folding screen products. The black bars at the top and bottom of the nearly square inner screen of traditional large folding screens are quite noticeable when playing videos.

The wide folding screen adopts a wider screen ratio closer to that of a tablet computer. When unfolded, it provides an immersive viewing experience similar to that of an iPad, whether watching movies in landscape mode or multitasking in split-screen mode, without sacrificing the feel of everyday holding.

Furthermore, the previous generation foldable OPPO Find N6, with its biomimetic symmetrical four-axis hinge structure and Dome Memory Glass, achieved a near-zero crease experience. It is expected that the Find N7 will inherit this excellent feature of seamless crease removal, making its overall performance highly anticipated.
