Huawei’s most powerful dual-folding Mate X8 will debut next month: powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro.

According to a report by Fast Technology on October 21st, blogger Dingjiao Digital revealed that the Huawei Mate X8 will be launched in November. The new product will feature a circular camera module and be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chip. This will be Huawei’s most powerful dual-folding flagship to date, and the first dual-folding phone to feature the Kirin 9050 Pro.

In terms of specifications, the Kirin 9050 Pro is the first to adopt logic folding technology, which continuously compresses signal propagation latency and increases transistor density. Its core is to reduce the detours of data, eliminate waiting time for computation, and complete more tasks in less time.

Its CPU features a 9-core, 16-thread Lingxi architecture, offering a 23% improvement in multi-core performance and a 41% improvement in large-core energy efficiency. The GPU utilizes the new-generation Ma Liang architecture, doubling the size of computing units and cache, supporting hardware-level ray tracing, and delivering a 40% performance increase and a 45% reduction in power consumption. The NPU employs the Da Vinci architecture, enabling the execution of MoE hybrid expert models with 30 billion parameters on the edge.

Additionally, the Huawei Mate X8 is expected to have a 6.5-inch external screen and an 8.15-inch internal screen, and may also offer a privacy-protected version. In terms of imaging, the phone will feature a 50MP quad-camera setup on the back, including a periscope telephoto lens, and will come pre-installed with the latest HarmonyOS 7 operating system.

In the foldable screen market, Huawei has become the mobile phone brand with the most diverse product forms in the industry. From the earliest outward folding, to inward folding, double folding, small folding, and then to triple folding, large wide folding, and small wide folding, Huawei has turned every possibility of foldable screens into mass-produced products.

To date, Huawei’s cumulative shipments of foldable phones have exceeded 20 million units. In the first half of 2026, Huawei’s market share of foldable phones exceeded 70%, continuing to lead this market. With the arrival of the Mate X8, Huawei’s competitiveness in the dual-foldable flagship segment is expected to be further enhanced.
