OPPO Find X9 Ultra breaks through the bottleneck of telephoto technology!

OPPO officially showcased the core telephoto technology breakthrough of its annual imaging flagship, the Find X9 Ultra – the Hasselblad 10x optical zoom telephoto lens. With its industry-first 5-reflection prism periscope architecture, it successfully integrates the high-quality 10x zoom capability of a professional teleconverter into a slim body, breaking the industry dilemma of “high magnification and slim body cannot be achieved at the same time” in the field of mobile telephoto photography and redefining the mobile telephoto experience.

On the morning of that day, OPPO’s Liu Zuohu posted on Weibo that 10x optical zoom is the final battleground in the competition for mobile phone telephoto lenses, and also the last piece of the puzzle to complete the full imaging capabilities of mobile phones.

Previously, due to technological limitations, the industry was unable to integrate high-definition 10X into mobile phones, making external teleconverters a necessary but unfortunate choice. The core goal of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is to truly integrate this high-definition 10X, which only exists outside the phone, to achieve realistic reproduction of distant scenes and capture the true details, colors, and expressions of the image, rather than relying on algorithmic enhancements.

This concept has led netizens to exclaim, “Hasselblad in your pocket is not just a saying,” which is a direct recognition of the camera’s imaging capabilities.

To allow the public to intuitively experience the actual performance of the native 10x optical zoom, Zhuo Shijie, head of OPPO Find series products, posted two consecutive Weibo posts that afternoon, showcasing multi-dimensional real-world testing. He first used a video to compare the imaging effects of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s native 10x optical zoom with those of common mobile phones with 10x zoom, allowing users to clearly see the difference in image quality between the two.

Subsequently, a comparison sample of concert scene photos was released, comparing the Find X9 Ultra’s native 10x optical zoom with the combination of “common flagship phones + 10x teleconverter”. The results showed that the image quality of the two was almost identical, confirming OPPO’s technological breakthrough in successfully fitting a teleconverter into a slim and lightweight body.

Editor’s Review:

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s breakthrough 10x optical zoom technology represents a significant shift in mobile imaging from “hardware stacking” to “technological innovation.” It breaks down industry barriers between telephoto magnification and device design/image quality, integrating the professional capabilities of external teleconverters. This not only provides users with a more convenient and professional mobile photography experience but also propels mobile telephoto technology towards “true optics, high image quality, and a lightweight user experience.”

This breakthrough also confirms that the competition in mobile phone imaging will eventually return to the technology itself, and that in-depth exploration of optical principles and the ultimate refinement of hardware processes are the core keys to breaking through the industry ceiling.
