 Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chip series this year, which is renamed from Snapdragon 8 Gen4.

Snapdragon has been renamed many times, from the original SMxxx to Snapdragon numbers (Snapdragon 810, 888, etc.), to Snapdragon 8 Genx, and now to Snapdragon Elite.

Judging from user feedback, it is obvious that the numerical series is easier to remember, and the positioning can be easily judged by the size of the numbers.

It is reported that Qualcomm will hold the 2024 Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii from October 21 to 23, and the “Snapdragon 8 Elite” chip will be announced at this conference.

Using a 2+6 architecture design, the frequency of the two super-large cores was finally finalized at 4.32GHz, and the frequency of the six large cores was finally locked at 3.53GHz, which is a huge improvement compared to the 3.3GHz of the previous generation.

In addition, Qualcomm has also added a new GPU interpolation frame technology to Snapdragon 8 Gen4, which supports game super-resolution and super-frame concurrency, and can completely replace external independent graphics chips to bring a gaming experience comparable to native high-frame.

According to current information, the new product will be launched first in the Xiaomi 15 series and will be officially released at the end of October.
