Vivo Officially Announces Vivo X Fold3 Foldable Phone

On March 18, 2024, Vivo announced the upcoming launch of its annual flagship foldable smartphone series, the Vivo X Fold3, set to be unveiled on March 26 at 19:00. The announcement was accompanied by real-life photos of the Vivo X Fold3 foldable screen shared by Jia Jingdong, Vivo’s Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy.

The Vivo X Fold3 series will feature at least two color options, black and white, and will include a prominent circular camera module with three lenses, highlighted by the distinctive Zeiss T* blue badge. The device’s hinge is designed to support multi-angle stops, enhancing user flexibility.

Jia Jingdong highlighted the device’s superior imaging capabilities, inherited from the Vivo X100 series, boasting a powerful Zeiss T* lens, a 50 million pixel main camera with the largest sensor in foldable devices, the strongest periscope telephoto lens in foldables, and Vivo’s industry-leading V3 imaging chip, branding it as the “Thanos of imaging in foldable screens.”

Leaks suggest that the standard version of the Vivo X Fold3 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 mobile platform, featuring a 6.53-inch external screen with a resolution of 2748×1172 and an 8.03-inch internal screen with a resolution of 2480×2200.

The Pro version, on the other hand, is rumored to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship mobile platform, maintaining the same screen sizes but offering enhanced charging capabilities. The standard version supports 80W wired charging, while the Pro version ups the ante with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless flash charging.

This announcement marks a significant moment for Vivo as it prepares to introduce its latest innovations in the foldable smartphone market, promising advanced technology and superior imaging capabilities.
