vivo X200 series pushes system update: reduces glare problem

after the release of the vivo X200 series, the glare problem in shooting caused heated discussions, especially the Pro version. At that time, the official promised to optimize it through OTA, and now the new system has begun to be pushed.

The camera in the new firmware has added a glare reduction switch for taking photos, which will take effect in some photo functions when turned on.

Automatically reduce the off-screen glare effect of some scene photos after imaging, or retain the glare effect part of the photo as needed.

In addition, a glare AI reduction function has been added to the album to process the off-screen glare performance of the taken photos in the album.

Usage path: “Album” > “Picture Editing” > “AI Removal” > “Glare Reduction”.

In addition to the OTA solution, Huang Tao, vice president of vivo products, also said that they would speed up the customization of peripheral optimization solutions and provide them free of charge to users in need.

In fact, glare is very common in photography, and even professional cameras cannot completely avoid it. However, in actual tests with mobile phones, the X200 Pro is indeed easier to trigger than other products, and the glare perception is also more obvious.

There are two main reasons:

First, it is related to the f/1.57 large aperture design. The larger amount of light entering will more easily trigger off-screen glare.

The second reason is related to the coating technology strategy. The coating of the X200 Pro is better at dealing with the radial and petal glare (ghosting) of the front night scene-shaped light source, but this strategy makes certain concessions in the blue spectrum, causing the X200 Pro’s off-screen glare to appear blue, which is indeed more prominent compared to the gray glare of other products.
