At the beginning of this month, unofficial information about the Xiaomi 17 Max made its way onto the internet, revealing key details related to the phone’s battery and chipset. Now, a new leak has expanded on that information by uncovering details about the phone’s camera specifications and suggesting when Xiaomi may officially unveil the handset.
According to well known leakster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to be equipped with a 200MP Samsung HPx primary camera featuring a large 1/1.4 inch sensor. Meanwhile, the vanilla Xiaomi 17 is expected to rely on a 50MP rear camera, underscoring the Max model’s superior imaging capabilities.
In addition to its main camera, the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to come equipped with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens featuring a 1/1.95 inch Sony IMX8 series sensor providing enhanced zoom capabilities. In addition, the device is anticipated to feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera which is ideal for capturing sweeping vistas and more comprehensive scenes in everyday photography.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 17 Max may be officially revealed sometime in the second quarter of this year. In terms of camera technology the device is likely to include the same Leica imaging features found on the rest of the Xiaomi 17 series smartphones.
Earlier leaks have suggested that the Xiaomi 17 Max might be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, offering high-end performance for demanding tasks. It is also expected to include a large 8,000mAh battery, capable of fast charging at 100W through a cable and 50W wirelessly. Its overall design is said to be similar to that of the regular Xiaomi 17 making it easily recognizable as part of the same series.
