Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 debuts! Xuanjie O3 to launch in August: built on 3nm process.

Fast Technology reported that blogger Digital Chat Station hinted that Xiaomi will launch a new product in August as part of a “grand fusion” of its technologies. This “grand fusion” refers to the deep integration of Xiaomi’s self-developed chip, operating system, and self-developed AI model, unleashing the full potential of all three on a single device.

Based on the latest leaks, this “grand gathering” of new products should be the foldable flagship MIX Fold 5. This phone will be the first to be equipped with the Xuanjie O3 chip, which has already obtained network access permission.

According to leaks, the Xuanjie O3, codenamed Lhasa, is built on TSMC’s 3nm process and is Xiaomi’s most powerful self-developed chip to date. In terms of architecture, compared to the Xuanjie O1, the Xuanjie O3 adopts a more aggressive design.

It abandons the traditional large core cluster and instead adopts a three-cluster design of “Prime Core + Titanium Core + Little Core”, with a clock frequency exceeding 4GHz.

In practical applications, this solution will significantly improve background task management and multitasking capabilities, perfectly matching the large-screen productivity scenarios of foldable screens and bringing users a smoother and more efficient user experience.

Public information shows that in May last year, Xiaomi launched its annual flagship model, the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which was the first phone to feature the Xuanjie O1 chip. This move marked Xiaomi as the first company in mainland China and the fourth globally to independently complete the research and design of a 3nm mobile phone chip.

The official launch of the Xuanjie O1 not only truly demonstrates Xiaomi’s core technological reserves in the field of cutting-edge chip R&D, but also directly fills the market gap that domestic companies have maintained for many years in the field of high-performance 3nm mobile processors, which is of great significance to the industry.
