Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Launches With The Same Older Hardware

Two months after the launch of the Redmi Note 13 series by Xiaomi, the company introduced the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R. This model shares the same hardware specifications as the standard Redmi Note 13 but stands out with its distinctive yellow body.

The Redmi Note 13R is essentially identical to the Redmi Note 13 in terms of internal hardware. It features a 5,000mAh battery, a 108MP primary camera, and is powered by the Dimensity 6080 chipset. However, the Redmi Note 13R differentiates itself with a larger camera island that extends across the phone’s back and a striking yellow exterior.

The device offers a single memory configuration of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It boasts a 6.67-inch OLED display, which is the same screen the company has used for the past three years. The selfie camera within the punch hole houses a 16 MP sensor, while the rear camera utilizes the same Samsung 108 MP sensor. The phone supports 33W charging for its 5,000mAh battery.

Despite sharing the same hardware as the standard Redmi Note 13, the Redmi Note 13R is slightly thicker and heavier due to the additional plastic on the back for the camera island.

In China, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R is priced at CNY1,999 (approximately $280). This pricing is notably higher than the standard Note 13 with 12/256 GB of RAM, which is currently priced at CNY1,599 (about $222), down from its original price of CNY1,699 ($237). The target market for the Redmi Note 13R, given its higher price point and similar specifications to the standard model, remains unclear.
