Huawei Has No Plans To Install HarmonyOS On Overseas Devices Rather EMUI

Huawei has recently announced that there are currently no plans to use HarmonyOS in their overseas smartphones. Instead, international consumers can continue to confidently use Android applications on Huawei phones equipped with the EMUI version. This decision comes amidst various speculations and developments in the smartphone industry.

In the future, Huawei intends to increase support for global developers, providing a better development environment and tools. This initiative aims to enhance user experience and create more opportunities, ultimately leading to greater commercial value.

Previously, there were reports suggesting that Huawei’s HarmonyOS would no longer be compatible with Android starting next year. However, Huawei has not yet responded to these claims.

During Huawei’s autumn new product launch event on September 25, Yu Chengdong announced the full launch of native HarmonyOS applications. The HarmonyOS NEXT developer preview version is scheduled to be available to developers in the first quarter of 2024.

This move signifies a shift away from compatibility between HarmonyOS and Android applications, marking the start of a new generation of operating systems focused on interconnectedness. Partners and developers from various fields are accelerating their integration into the HarmonyOS ecosystem, contributing to the growing momentum of this platform.
