Xiaomi’s foldable MIX Ultra is about to be officially announced: feature the self-developed chip, Xuanjie O3.

Xiaomi will officially announce its new generation of Xuanjie chip at 2 pm today via live text and image broadcast. It is expected to be named Xuanjie O3.

According to the blogger Digital Chat Station, the live stream is expected to simultaneously announce the flagship device equipped with this chip. Based on previous leaks, the Xuanjie O3 will be the first device to feature this chip in Xiaomi’s foldable phone, and the new product is expected to be named MIX Ultra.

Previously, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun accidentally leaked a photo of what appeared to be the Xiaomi MIX Ultra. The photo shows a wine-red body, a color similar to the Redmi K100 Pro Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon, and a very slim profile, making it highly recognizable.

The device debuts with the Xuanjie O3, internally codenamed “lhasa,” which utilizes TSMC’s 3nm process. In terms of architecture, the Xuanjie O3 features a triple-cluster architecture consisting of a super-large core, a titanium core, and a small core, with the super-large core’s clock speed exceeding 4GHz. Benchmark scores for the Xuanjie O3 are expected to exceed 4 million on AnTuTu, placing its overall performance among the top tier in the industry.

The significance of this chip goes beyond its specifications. From an industry perspective, the launch of the Xuanjie O3 signifies that Xiaomi has developed its own full-stack R&D capabilities in core areas.

More importantly, it can be deeply integrated with Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge OS and AI big data model, fully leveraging the synergistic advantages of hardware, system, and algorithms on the device. For Xiaomi’s “people, car, and home ecosystem” strategy, this is undoubtedly a more controllable technological foundation.

The device is expected to be officially released in September, close to the release date of Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra. With the official unveiling of the Xuanjie O3, Xiaomi’s further step on its self-developed chip journey will face market scrutiny.
