Fast Technology reported that AYANEO, a Chinese handheld game console brand, unveiled the appearance of its Pocket PLAY for the first time. This is AYANEO’s first mobile phone.
The AYANEO Pocket PLAY is touted as a “gaming phone infused with the soul of a handheld console.” It features a classic side-sliding design and a built-in full-function game controller, paying homage to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play of yesteryear.
Specifically, Pocket PLAY adopts AYANEO’s unique minimalist aesthetic style. The side-sliding structure is full of ritual and retro charm. When the controller is unfolded, it blends into the screen, making it comfortable to hold and easy to control.
The handle layout has also been specially optimized for the side-sliding structure, and it is equipped with a D-pad and ABXY buttons.
It’s worth mentioning that Pocket PLAY also comes with dual smart touchpads, which can be mapped to virtual joysticks or used as touchpads, allowing players to customize their controls according to their personal preferences.
Judging from the teaser video, the phone features a dual rear camera design, a shoulder button, a power button, and volume buttons on the right side of the device, and also supports stereo dual speakers.
Currently, AYANEO has not yet released detailed specifications for Pocket PLAY. We will continue to follow up on this information.
