The latest Android 16 update is rolling out to Sony Xperia devices, including the 1 VII, 1 VI, and 10 VI. The update is now gradually reaching the Xperia 10 VII, which launched in September. This 5G model comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and is priced at approximately €449 in Europe or £399 in the UK.
Sony is pushing the update to its mid-tier phone via OTA, identified by build number 72.1.A.2.65. Since the file is around 1 GB, make sure your connection can handle the download smoothly.
Reports indicate the rollout is currently underway in Europe and Japan, with additional regions expected soon. One notable addition is the Modes feature, which allows you to mute notifications during key moments such as work, sleep, or commuting.
With this update, the display quality settings now include a new Recommended mode, and adjusting the screen’s white balance is simpler than before. You can now easily enable or disable Side Sense, access the lock screen settings directly from the home screen, and monitor your battery status. Additionally, Screen Mirroring has been added to the Quick Settings panel through the Cast function.
If you own an Xperia 10 VII, you can manually check for software updates by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
