Apple officially releases the first iOS 26 public beta: all users can upgrade

Apple officially pushed the first iOS 26 public beta version early this morning. All users who participated in the Beta program can upgrade their experience.

It is very easy to obtain qualifications. You only need to apply on the official Apple Beta website, and then you can upgrade directly on the settings interface.

iOS 26 adopts the new Liquid Glass design language, which is the biggest design update since iOS 7.

Liquid Glass can refract light and dynamically respond to user actions through mirror highlights, and can cooperate with users to call options or switch interfaces, cleverly echoing the rounded corners of the device.

The new design covers the home screen and lock screen, which is more personalized and vivid than ever before. Liquid Glass also brings new customization options for app icons and widgets, including a beautifully simple appearance.

On the lock screen, the time will adjust based on the available space of the wallpaper image, and the spatial scene function will make the wallpaper come alive through 3D effects as the user moves the iPhone in his hand.

The iOS 26 public beta is consistent with Beta 4 overall, and Apple has added back some of the liquid glass that was cut off.

Judging from user feedback, this version has become stable for daily use, with no hard bugs, and the lag, heat and power consumption are much better than before.

Of course, it is still recommended that you do not use your main machine for upgrading, as there are still risks.

According to Apple’s previous announcement, the three models of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR will no longer be supported and can only stay on iOS 18 forever.

The iPhone 11 series, iPhone SE 2nd generation and subsequent models can all be upgraded to iOS 26.
