Recently, it was reported that Apple is currently testing a foldable iPhone with a clamshell design.
This new device adopts a vertical folding design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series and the moto razr series, improving the phone’s portability by reducing its size.
According to leaked information from the supply chain, this flip phone is another attempt by Apple to expand its foldable device offerings.
Some media outlets have previously pointed out that Apple is exploring a square “flip-style” design. While it’s currently uncertain whether the flip version will ultimately pass testing and enter mass production, Apple is clearly actively positioning itself in the foldable screen market through various form factors.
In addition, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is rumored to be released this year, featuring a 7.8-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen, and powered by the latest A20 chip.
This debut model is expected to be unveiled this fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series, marking Apple’s official entry into the foldable phone market.
