Honor Magic8 Pro Air packs a 5500mAh battery into a 155g body: far surpassing Apple and Samsung.

Honor will release its new ultra-thin flagship Honor Magic8 Pro Air on January 19. Although it is positioned as an ultra-thin flagship, its strength should not be underestimated.

According to leaks, the Honor Magic8 Pro Air is only 6.1mm thick and weighs only 155g. Despite its ultra-thin and lightweight body, Honor has packed a 5500mAh battery, far exceeding the ultra-thin flagships of Apple and Samsung.

PS: The iPhone Air is 5.6mm thick, weighs 165g, and has a battery capacity of only 3149mAh; the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, weighs 163g, and has a battery capacity of only 3900mAh.

More importantly, the Honor Magic8 Pro Air does not downgrade its imaging configuration. It features a large-sensor main camera, a periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens . It also supports 3D ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanning and is powered by the latest Dimensity 9500 flagship platform.

In comparison, the iPhone Air only has a 48-megapixel camera, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge only has a main camera and an ultra-wide-angle lens, lacking a telephoto lens.

In terms of industrial design, the Honor Magic8 Pro Air features a horizontally oriented camera module, a unibody cold-carved glass back cover, a metal right-angled frame, and offers a variety of color options, maximizing both texture and recognizability.

Fang Fei, President of Honor’s Terminal Product Line, stated that the Air, as a new product category, presents both opportunities and challenges for all brands. However, truly engaging in it requires not only courage but also sufficient technological accumulation. Packing the Pro version into the Air represents a systematic expression of innovation from Honor’s underlying architecture to materials science.

The continuous evolution and breakthroughs in architecture stacking capabilities have led to the creation of the Honor Magic V series, the thinnest foldable screen phone in the industry for three generations. The Qinghai Lake battery, the King Kong Giant Rhinoceros glass, and the Honor Oasis eye protection display have also become Honor’s technological hallmarks. These are the foundations that give us the confidence to make the Air so successful.
