According to a recent report by market research firm Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 15 series has made a significant impact on the Chinese smartphone market. Among the top five best-selling smartphones in China, three models from the iPhone 15 lineup have secured their places.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max leads the pack with a 5% market share, making it the most popular model in China. Following closely is the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which holds a 4% market share, ranking second.
The iPhone 15 Pro, sharing the same market share as the Mate 60 Pro, stands in third place, indicating the continued popularity of Apple’s latest “Pro” models.
The Honor X50 and the iPhone 15 round out the fourth and fifth positions, each holding a 3% share of the market. Apple had assured its shareholders in its Q4 2023 financial report that the demand in the Chinese market remains strong.
This assurance was aimed at alleviating investor concerns about various issues in the region, including manufacturing processes and market environment. The latest rankings seem to validate Apple’s confidence in the Chinese market.
Huawei, on the other hand, is expected to ship 100 million units in 2024, with its P70 flagship series set to launch next year. Given its current momentum, Huawei is likely to continue posing significant competition to Apple in the smartphone market.
