Fast Technology reported that blogger Dingjiao Digital recently hinted that the Huawei Mate 90 RS Master will adopt a square lens module design. This news resonated with many users in the comments section, with some saying that the classic design of the Mate 20 series has returned.
Looking back at the product iterations in recent years, the latest generations of the Mate Master series have all adopted an octagonal lens module. This time, the return to the square DECO design has a sense of paying homage to the classic design.
Back in October 2018, Huawei officially released the Mate 20 series, whose iconic square four-point matrix camera module attracted widespread attention. This design is not only highly recognizable, but also aligns with the symmetrical aesthetic concept in Chinese culture.
From a functional perspective, the square layout effectively reduces the viewing angle difference between multiple cameras, making it one of the optimal solutions for complex multi-camera systems at the time. Eight years later, the square lens module has returned to the Mate series flagship phones, which seems to indicate that the square design may once again lead a wave of industry design trends.
In terms of hardware configuration, the Huawei Mate 90 RS Master will be the first to be equipped with a new generation of Kirin chip based on the Tao Law. The core idea of this technology is to replace the “geometric shrinkage” that the traditional Moore’s Law relies on with “time shrinkage”.
This means that instead of simply reducing the physical size of transistors, innovative technologies such as logic folding are used to achieve synergistic optimization at four levels: device, circuit, chip, and system. This effectively compresses signal propagation delay, thereby significantly improving transistor density and overall system performance at the same process node.
This highly anticipated new flagship will be officially released in September.
