Huawei is set to unveil its latest innovation in the foldable smartphone market with the Huawei Pocket 2. Announced for the launch event is set for February 22, the Pocket 2 aims to continue Huawei’s legacy of leading the foldable phone industry in design, performance, and user experience, having garnered consumer acclaim for its superior product experiences.
The Pocket 2 is expected to maintain the dual-circle design of its predecessor, featuring a circular rear camera module on the top and a circular secondary screen on the bottom for notifications and rear camera previews.
Significantly, the Pocket 2 is anticipated to be powered by the Kirin 9000S series chip, marking it as Huawei’s first Kirin-powered small foldable device and its first 5G small foldable smartphone. The Kirin 9000S is designed with a 1+3+4 architecture, consisting of 12.49GHz+32.15GHz+4*1.53GHz cores, and a Mali-G78 GPU, aiming to fill the gap left by its predecessors, the P50 Pocket with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G and the Pocket S with the Snapdragon 778G 4G.
Furthermore, the official announcement of the “Pocket 2” name confirms rumors that the Pocket series will stand as its line within Huawei’s smartphone offerings, parallel to the Mate and P series.
