Huawei reportedly tests native magnetic wireless charging to reduce battery space

Apple recently released the iPhone 16e. Although it is a new model, it does not support the MagSafe magnetic suction ecosystem.

It is worth noting that while Apple is cutting off the magnetic suction, Huawei is planning to add magnetic suction.

According to blogger Digital Chat Station, Huawei is testing native magnetic wireless charging. Because adding magnets requires increasing the body thickness by 0.3mm±, it is currently testing a solution to reduce the battery.

At present, many Android manufacturers have launched original magnetic cases and magnetic chargers, which can be adapted to Apple’s MagSafe ecosystem, but none of them are achieved through built-in magnets, mainly due to space issues.

After all, the magnet needs to be quite thick, and sacrificing battery life is not worth it.

Previously, Nubia Z40 Pro was the first high-end flagship in the Android camp to support wireless magnetic charging function, but the response was mediocre.

Judging from the current user feedback, most netizens are still opposed to native magnetic suction, and still believe that it is more reasonable to increase the battery and achieve it through a magnetic suction case.
