Huawei’s pure Hongmeng new features exposed: targeting iOS, more practical

Huawei is adding more new features to the pure-blooded Hongmeng, including application continuation.

The report mentioned that the Hongmeng operating system divides the multi-device collaborative function (free flow) into two types: “cross-end migration” and “multi-end collaboration”, which respectively represent serial interaction and parallel interaction in time.

It is reported that cross-end migration (serial interaction) means that after the user has used device A, the target task is completely transferred to device B, and the user of device A no longer needs to perform any operations; the dual frame represents functions such as multi-device task center, super desktop, etc.

Multi-terminal collaboration (parallel interaction): refers to the user using device A while simultaneously using device B to assist in completing related tasks; dual-frame represents functions such as mobile phone remote control of smart screen, wireless screen projection, etc.

For the single-framework Hongmeng, two representative functions have been added to cross-terminal migration and multi-terminal collaboration respectively – application continuation and application native interconnection capabilities.

Regarding application continuation, for example, a user is browsing a web page on the browser of device A. At this time, the screen of device A is turned off or directly returned to the desktop. The browser Deco will pop up directly in the Dock bar at the bottom of device B. After the user clicks it, the browser will automatically jump to the page the user is browsing on the browser of device A, and instantly load it to the corresponding process. The user does not need to perform any operation on device A.

In addition, the WPS application will use the native capabilities of “single-frame Hongmeng” to support inserting pictures from Huawei phones/tablets. PS: It is clear that Hongmeng PC is on the way…

According to Huawei’s preparation progress, the official version of the pure-blooded Hongmeng system will be launched first by the Mate 70 series around November this year.
