iPhone Air 2 Rumored to Be Back on Track for a 2026 Release

In November, there were reports saying that Apple had decided to delay the release of the iPhone Air 2 until spring 2027 because the first version of the phone didn’t sell as well as expected. However, fresh rumors indicate that the successor to the iPhone Air might still arrive sometime next year.

According to tipster Fixed Focus Digital, who revealed the details in a post on Weibo, Apple is planning to officially announce the iPhone Air 2 at its fall iPhone launch event in September 2026. This announcement comes as confirmation for users and who have been following rumors and speculation about when the next iPhone Air would arrive.

Meanwhile, the tipster also revealed that Apple’s iPhone 17e is expected to launch in the spring. According to the information shared the device has already entered mass production indicating that Apple is on track with its schedule for the new model.

Earlier reports suggested that Apple’s September event next year would see the unveiling of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Fold. At the same time, the second generation iPhone Air along with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 17e was expected to be released in the spring of 2027 giving a tentative timeline for Apple’s upcoming devices.

The Apple iPhone 17 Air is available in two storage options. The 256GB version with 12GB of RAM is priced at $847.99 or €904.29 while the 512GB version with 12GB of RAM costs $949.00 or €1,028.00. Rumors about the iPhone Air 2 suggest it will include improvements such as a dual rear camera setup, a bigger battery for longer usage, a lower price than its predecessor and a vapor chamber cooling system to prevent the device from overheating.
