Meizu Note 16 Pro Becomes First Smartphone with TÜV SÜD Triple Protection: Survives 35-Meter Drop Unharmed

Today, Meizu Technology released a hands-on durability test video of the Meizu Note 16 Pro, the industry’s first smartphone certified for triple protection by TÜV SÜD. In real-world testing, the Meizu Note 16 Pro withstood drops from 1.5 meters and 3 meters without issue—and even survived a dramatic 35-meter fall from the top of Meizu’s building without a scratch.

In addition, the device features IP66 + IP68 flagship-level dust and water resistance, enabling it to endure extreme scenarios such as accidental submersion or exposure to sand and dust. The Note 16 Pro is built with a “Titan Shield” alloy frame and has passed TÜV SÜD certification for 1.8-meter multi-angle drop protection and 36-hour water immersion tests at 2 meters depth.

This makes it the first smartphone in the industry with TÜV SÜD triple-protection certification—unscathed even after a 35-meter fall. The Meizu Note 16 series will be officially launched on May 13, including two models: the Meizu Note 16 and Meizu Note 16 Pro.

According to previous leaks, the Note 16 may be powered by the Unisoc T765 processor, feature a 1080P LCD screen, pack a 6600mAh battery, and support up to 80W fast charging.

It will ship with the new Flyme 12 OS preinstalled—marking the first time a major Flyme version debuts on a non-flagship device.
