Motorola Edge 70 Delivers Sleek Design and Affordable Performance

The Motorola Edge 70 marks Motorola’s latest entry into the thin phone market and it might be the most impressive one yet. Boasting reliable performance, a stylish design, the newest software and a fair price, it checks all the boxes.

Motorola Edge 70

Measuring 5.99mm, the Edge 70 is slightly thicker than Apple’s iPhone Air (5.64mm) and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm), though the difference is barely noticeable. Its main advantage lies in weight: at just 159 grams, it is significantly lighter than both competitors.

With its light weight, the Edge 70 is comfortable to use all day. At the same time, it’s built to resist dust, water and rough use.

The device is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, with memory options of 8GB or 12GB RAM and storage choices of 256GB or 512GB.

Battery concerns are understandable in a phone this slim. The Edge 70 features a 4,800mAh silicon-carbon battery designed for efficiency and long lasting performance. According to Motorola, a single charge can last up to 50 hours of mixed use, with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging available.

More specs

The phone has two rear cameras: a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP wide angle lens. Up front, a 50MP camera handles selfies.

The Edge 70 runs Android 16 out of the box and is expected to receive three additional major updates. Motorola’s claim of four updates includes the pre-installed Android 16, which can be a little confusing. The device will also receive security updates through 2031.

Pantone has created three shades for the Edge 70: Bronze Green, Lily Pad and Gadget Grey. The phone’s polycarbonate body is both durable and stylish and a slim magnetic case is included for added protection.

Release date and price

Motorola will release the Edge 70 in the U.K., Europe, Latin America and several other regions starting November 5, with a retail price of £700 (roughly $915). This makes it considerably cheaper than the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air locally, although those models feature higher-end specifications. An official U.S. release has not been announced but Motorola’s staggered launches and regional naming conventions make it possible.
