Nubia’s world’s first AI-powered smartphone will make its debut at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference on July 17.

Today, Ni Fei, President of ZTE Terminal Business Unit and President of Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., responded in an article, saying that the core of AI intelligent body mobile phones can be summarized in four points: understand, do, remember, and be secure.

Ni Fei stated that AI smartphones on the market are becoming increasingly feature-rich, with intelligent dialogue and image creation being promising areas of exploration. However, these features are essentially just adding AI capabilities on top of the original functions of smartphones.

In actual use, users still need to switch back and forth between multiple applications and click repeatedly in order to complete a task.

While mobile phones seem to be becoming increasingly “capable,” the things users need to worry about haven’t decreased significantly.

According to Ni Fei, the second half of AI smartphones will shift from “feature overlay” to “native intelligent agents,” and the interaction logic will also change from users adapting to the phone to the phone proactively understanding user needs and completing tasks.

Ni Fei proposed four core standards for the capabilities that a smart phone should possess: First, it must be able to understand the user’s most natural expressions without needing to deliberately adjust its script; second, it must be able to truly complete the tasks assigned by the user; third, it must remember the user’s habits and memos without needing to repeat instructions; and finally, all capabilities must be built upon robust privacy and security protection.

Ni Fei emphasized that this product is not only aimed at tech enthusiasts or business people, but also aims to serve all users who want to make their lives more worry-free and relaxed.

“Understandable, capable, memorable, and safe enough. In short, Nubia has it all!” Ni Fei said.
