OPPO Find X10 Ultra debuts with a large sensor and 10x periscope telephoto lens

Blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that the OPPO Find X10 Ultra will be the first to feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a 10x large sensor, and the project has now entered the NPI stage.

NPI stands for New Product Introduction, which refers to the systematic process of a product going from concept design to prototype, trial production, small batch production, and finally to stable mass production. The core objective is to ensure that the product is manufacturable, deliverable, and sustainable.

Looking back at the previous flagship OPPO Find X9 Ultra, it was the first to feature a 10x periscope telephoto lens, natively supporting 10x optical zoom, with a sensor size of 1/2.75 inches. The new generation Find X10 Ultra has significantly increased the sensor size of this 10x telephoto lens to 1/1.95 inches, achieving a qualitative leap.

As the saying goes, “a larger sensor makes all the difference,” a larger sensor area means stronger light capture capabilities, especially in high-magnification scenarios such as 10x zoom, where low-light image quality will be significantly improved.

More notably, the OPPO Find X10 Ultra will be the only flagship Android phone to natively support 10x optical zoom. Reportedly, other leading Android brands had previously evaluated 10x telephoto solutions but ultimately abandoned this approach for various reasons, returning to a traditional single periscope design.

OPPO not only persisted in advancing the project but also applied for relevant patents for the entire solution, placing it at the forefront of technological innovation in the industry. With the Find X10 Ultra, users can easily capture clear distant scenes without the need for an external teleconverter, demonstrating its technological leadership.
