Fast Technology reported that Xiaomi skipped the 16th generation of its flagship series last September and directly launched the Xiaomi 17 series. Now, the REDMI Note series is adopting the same product strategy. According to leaks, the REDMI Note series will skip the Note 16 and directly launch the REDMI Note 17 series, with the new products expected to be officially released in July.
It is reported that the REDMI Note 17 series will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 series processor, a 1.5K resolution flat screen, a 50-megapixel rear main camera, a large 9000mAh battery, and full-level water resistance, making its overall configuration quite solid.
As is well known, the REDMI Note series is called “Little King Kong” within Xiaomi. Its core selling points have always been drop resistance, durability, and ultra-long battery life. The previous generation REDMI Note 15 series was equipped with the same “Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass” as Xiaomi’s flagship digital series.
The official claim is that its drop resistance is improved tenfold, easily withstanding repeated drops from a height of 2 meters on granite surfaces. Additionally, this series boasts full waterproof capabilities, able to withstand direct impacts from high-temperature, high-pressure water jets, making its durability exceptionally outstanding in its price range.
As an iterative model in this product positioning, the REDMI Note 17 series will continue to retain its excellent drop resistance and top-notch waterproof capabilities, continuing the excellent tradition of the “Little King Kong” in terms of durability.
However, considering the significant price increases of core components such as memory, and the substantial rise in upstream cost pressures, it’s possible that the REDMI Note 17 series will be priced higher than its predecessor. The specific price and final configuration are still pending official announcement.
