Fast Technology reported that Nubia officially showcased the world’s first AI-powered smartphone, the Nubia NaviX Ultra, at the WAIC 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Blogger Guo Ju provided a brief hands-on experience with the device at the event, generating widespread attention.
Compared to the initial prototype of the Nubia NaviX Assistant, the NaviX Ultra features a significantly different appearance. It adopts a horizontal camera module with a rear-mounted 50MP AI triple camera setup, including a main camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a periscope telephoto lens, covering commonly used focal lengths. The back panel has a matte finish, paired with a metal frame, providing a comfortable grip. It is available in four colors: Blue, Dream, Black, and White.
The front features a 6.78-inch OLED punch-hole straight screen, and the side of the device is equipped with an orange AI button that supports one-click activation of the Doubao Assistant, allowing users to quickly access AI capabilities.
In terms of hardware configuration, the phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra flagship platform, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is expected that multiple memory versions will be available after its launch. The phone comes pre-installed with the Doubao AI model, which has been filed with relevant national departments, ensuring its compliance.
As the world’s first AI-powered smartphone, the Nubia NaviX Ultra allows users to perform multi-app operations with just one sentence. For example, a user can say, “Collect information about WAIC 2026 and send it to colleagues,” and the Doubao AI assistant will automatically complete the search, aggregation, and sending process.
Users can also say “Photoshop the girl’s clothes in the photo to be red,” and Doubao AI Assistant will recognize the subject, accurately locate the clothing area, and complete the corresponding color adjustment.
Unlike traditional voice assistants, the Nubia NaviX Ultra’s built-in Doubao Phone Assistant adopts a system-level GUI Agent architecture. It can understand screen content and simulate human clicks and swipes, completing multi-step tasks across applications, realizing a shift in the experience from “human operation of the phone” to “AI helping you operate the phone”.
Ni Fei, president of Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., once stated that Nubia has taken the lead in completing the registration of its large-scale intelligent agent model, clearing the compliance hurdle for product launch. To date, only a handful of edge-side intelligent agent models nationwide have passed registration, and Nubia is the first brand to deploy a complete intelligent agent architecture on mobile devices and achieve commercial deployment.
Thanks to its innovative breakthroughs in the field of AI, the Nubia NaviX Ultra won the SAIL Outstanding AI Leader Award at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, which is a high recognition of its technological strength and industry influence.
