The Huawei nova 16 Ultra is here: powered by the Kirin 9 series SoC.

According to the latest leaks, the specifications of the Huawei nova 16 Ultra engineering sample have surfaced. The phone features a 6.84-inch 1.5K LTPO screen, achieving an excellent balance between display quality and power consumption.

In terms of core configuration, the Huawei nova 16 Ultra will be equipped with the Kirin 9 series flagship chip, and its battery capacity will reach approximately 7000 mAh. This combination of a large battery and a high-performance chip indicates a qualitative leap in its battery life and power output.

The imaging system is equally impressive, featuring a 50-megapixel, 1/1.3-inch ultra-large sensor for the main camera, complemented by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a unique red maple lens. This combination covers all scenarios from high-quality snapshots to ultra-long-distance shooting.

Looking back at last year’s nova 15 Ultra, it was equipped with the Kirin 9010S chip. The market generally expects the nova 16 Ultra to achieve another performance upgrade, further approaching the capabilities of the Mate series in terms of actual performance.

According to reports, at the Huawei Mate XTs Extraordinary Master launch event held in September 2025, Yu Chengdong officially revealed the specific model of the Kirin chip—the Kirin 9020. This sent a clear signal to the market that the domestic chip supply chain has achieved full-chain self-reliance and control.

From the birth of the Kirin chip to the breakthrough return of the Kirin 9020, Huawei has not only successfully broken through external technological blockades, but has also reshaped the global semiconductor industry landscape to a large extent.
