The iPhone 18 Pro is still made of aluminum alloy: bloggers warn of potential discoloration.

Blogger Dingjiao Digital stated that the iPhone 18 Pro will still use an aluminum alloy body, and there is no hope for titanium to return in the short term. Users who plan to buy it should be aware of the potential risk of color fading in the new color versions.

Previously, many users had reported on social media that their iPhone 17 Pro had experienced abnormal paint peeling. Many users wore full-coverage protective cases all the time, and even after less than a year of normal use, the coating on the side of the phone had already peeled off significantly, which is far below the durability standard expected of a flagship phone costing tens of thousands of yuan.

Analysis agencies point out that aluminum alloy itself has a much lower basic hardness than titanium, making it inherently less scratch-resistant. Coupled with the flaws in the current anodizing sealing process, the surface protection performance of the aluminum alloy body is insufficient, making the iPhone 17 Pro one of the Apple flagship models with the most doubts about its durability in recent years.

If the iPhone 18 Pro continues to use an aluminum alloy body design, whether the paint chipping problem that plagued previous generation users can be completely resolved will naturally become the focus of attention for all users who are preparing to buy the new model.

According to leaked information, the iPhone 18 Pro will be available in four colors: silver, light blue, red, and black. In comparison, the previous generation iPhone 17 Pro series only offered silver, dark blue, and Midnight Orange. Currently, it appears that red will be the primary color for the iPhone 18 Pro.
